Understanding Family Support During the Transition to Parenthood
We are inviting pregnant individuals expecting their first child to participate in this research study at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Participants can receive up to $450 in Amazon gift cards for completing all study activities.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
You may be eligible if you:
• Are 18 years of age or older
• Are currently 13-34 weeks pregnant
• Will be a first-time parent
• Are able to read and complete surveys in English
• Are willing to visit our CSUDH campus in Carson for two study visits
WHAT DOES PARTICIPATION INVOLVE?
The study has four parts spread across your pregnancy and your baby's first year:
• An in-person visit at CSUDH during your pregnancy (about 2.5 hours)
• An online survey when your baby is 3 months old (about 90 minutes, from home)
• An in-person visit at CSUDH with your baby at 6 months old (about 2.5 hours)
• An online survey when your baby is 12 months old (about 90 minutes, from home)
HOW MUCH IS THE COMPENSATION?
Participants can receive up to $450 in Amazon gift cards for completing all four parts of the study.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?

A member of the NEST Study team will contact you within a few business days to answer your questions, determine if you're eligible, and provide more information about the study. You can then decide if you'd like to participate.
Completing the interest form does not obligate you to participate.
About the NEST Study
The NEST Study (Nurturing Extended Support Systems in the Transition to Parenthood) is conducted by the PERCH Lab in the Department of Psychology at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Our research examines how relationships with family members and other important people shape parents' and babies' health and well-being during pregnancy and the transition to parenthood.
