OUR MISSION

Our mission is to conduct research that promotes mental health resilience and wellbeing for children and families, particularly for families facing health inequities due to chronic contextual stressors. 

The PERCH team focuses on:

The goal of our work is to inform the development of accessible, scalable, and culturally inclusive preventative interventions to help interrupt mental health inequities and support psychological wellbeing for parents and their children.

The PERCH Team is currently involved in several research studies focused on stress and resilience during pregnancy and early childhood. Our research projects are supported by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the American Psychological Foundation (APF).

MENTORED RESEARCH TRAINING

A major goal of the PERCH lab is to support the next generation of psychological scientists and mental health professionals through hands-on research training, mentorship, and professional development. This training experience is ideal for students who are pursuing graduate school or careers in psychology and seeking research experience related to prenatal stress, early life stress, and children’s development of mental health and resilience.

If you are a student interested in getting involved with research, click 'Join the Team' to learn about potential opportunities. No prior research experience is required. First gen students and students from other underrepresented or marginalized backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
