Joseph McKnight is a post-master’s research assistant in the PERCH lab. He earned a double major in Psychology and Writing Arts from Rowan University in 2022 and completed a Master of Arts in Education at Alliant University in 2024.

Joseph’s research interests include adolescent mental health, family dynamics, and resilience. He is particularly interested in examining how generational trauma and mental illness influence family functioning and how the development of resilience can promote positive outcomes for adolescents. Joseph’s long-term goal is to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology and become a clinician working with children, adolescents, and their families to promote mental health and strengthen family relationships. Outside of academic pursuits Joseph enjoys the gym, spending time with friends, and reading.
