Tylin Bakhoum (she/her) is a first year graduate student at California State University Dominguez Hills studying Health Psychology. She graduated with a BS in Psychology and a BA in Advertising from Grand Canyon University in 2023. She is planning on pursuing her doctorate in psychology with a focus on health and development. In addition, she completed a Certificate in Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania to deepen her understanding of brain and behavior research.
Tylin currently works as a teachers assistant at Riviera Hall Lutheran Middle School, supporting students in the science classroom and fostering early engagement with STEM concepts. She also leads a weekly Social Emotional Learning (SEL) class, facilitating group discussions, interactive exercises, and self-reflection activities to help students navigate social and emotional challenges. Her research interests include neuroscience, health psychology, quantitative and qualitative research methods, mental health in adolescents, and the mind-body connection. Tylin is particularly interested in exploring how psychological processes influence physical health and well-being.
In her free time, Tylin loves playing video games, collecting trinkets, and traveling the world.
